Article II, Sector 3 of the US Constitution, says the President “shall from time to time give to Congress information of the State of the Union and recommend to their Consideration such measures as he shall judge necessary and expedient.”
At 9PM Eastern Standard Time, February 13, 2013 President Obama has planned to address a joint session of Congress to deliver the State of the Union Address.
The following day, President Obama will be introducing an executive order, purportedly aimed at bolstering U.S. cyber-security, after repeated failed attempts to pass legislation through Congress.
Anonymous has reached a verdict of NO CONFIDENCE in this executive order and the plans to reintroduce the CISPA bill to Congress on the same day. As such, President Obama and the State of the Union Address will be BANISHED from the Internet for the duration of live delivery.
So as not to infringe upon the President’s free speech, subsequent broadcasts will be allowed to pass unhindered.
This action is being taken to underline a fact that appears to be sorely unrecognized by the Obama Administration — that the Internet is a sovereign territory, and does not fall under the jurisdiction of any nation state.
We are the natives of this space, and its guardians, and we will fight until death to protect it as a neutral grounds for the unhindered interaction of all members of the human race, so long as they themselves act in harmony with this inviolable principle.
Our determination is that President Obama is acting in direct contravention of this principle, and his brief exclusion is an educational, rather than a punitive measure.
We hope that its lesson will be learned.
Punitive measures have not been ruled out.

This idea was a non-starter from the get go. The only thing that Anonymous could hope for was that enough people would read this and download their denial of service software (LOIC) and cripple some video streams by flooding the host server’s available bandwidth. Making threats like this that they know are next to impossible to implement just smacks of plain old hubris.
Be careful guys to not buy into your own press or it could come back to bite you.
I think what Anonymous does is great and will eventually in the future become legendary. Making grand proclamations like this one, that had very little chance of success, is not the way to go about doing it.

You’ve made it clear that this act is addressed to the president and not the masses, but what about them? Do you plan to help them understand why this is important? even here, you have expressed respect for rights guaranteed by the constitution. Would you create and enforce new rights? Do you believe that all of the online world deserves a place and an authority who will resolve their disputes, or is the internet a place where caveat emptor should reign supreme?
Current and proposed U.S. laws which attempt to bring the internet under their jurisdiction are a square peg for a round hole, but the hole remains.

The speech went off without any troubles! No interruption to the stream at all. The whitehouse.gov website had the enhanced broadcast on their website and both the stream AND the website handled the traffic without any trouble. No sign of any attacked noticed!!!
Livestream and youtube both had no interruptions in their stream.
Is Anonymous losing it’s power on the internet?
So, now we all just sit back and watch Obama take over OUR internet???? Is that the new plan???

Whatever happened to ” we the people”. The Supreme Court as well as the “elected” officials do what they want, what the lobbyists pay for and what is best for them. (Sic) different insurance, children do not pay for college, after one term in office they get their full pay for life and wives also receive a ” retirement” check. Not right!! These offices were never intended to be for more than one term and no pay. When you have a senator in office in his 90′s something’s rotten when others are forced to retire at a much earlier age.
